Boudoir Photography Frequently Asked Questions

The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked ALL KINDS of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir shoot with me.

‘Do you share my images?’

My number one priority is making sure my clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world. Or sometimes, these photos are specifically for your spouse or significant other’s eyes only. These are all great reasons to not share your images publicly, and it all depends on your personal preferences. If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask you written permission first and only share what you are comfortable with.

‘Do I have to wear lingerie?’

You definitely don’t have to wear lingerie specifically. Your wardrobe selection is all based on YOUR personality! There are so many other options beyond little lacy pieces.

‘Do you have payment plans?’

I offer a few payment plan options. There is a booking retainer to schedule your shoot, and the balance is due 2 weeks before the date of your shoot. If you want more time to pay off the shoot we can schedule you a few months out, and pay it off in payments! Let me know if this is something you want to set up!

‘Is hair and makeup included?’

Hair and makeup is included in all of my boudoir shoots! I think it’s very important that you feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! I am your makeup artist as well and can help you complete your desired look. Whether it be the ‘I woke up like this’ look or full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can try to use it for inspiration!

‘Do you photoshop my images?’

I edit your images for light, exposure and color balance. I do NOT automatically edit out anything that is permanent. I customize the editing for each individual. You will receive a questionnaire when you book your shoot with me which will give you the opportunity to tell me what level of editing you want and expect for your images. HOWEVER, as part of this whole process, we are learning to love and accept ourselves as we are. And seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself you’re still learning to love, and aren’t thrilled about, THATS OKAY! I am skilled in lighting and posing to make you look your absolute best!

‘Where should I buy my outfits?’

There are a lot of places to buy outfits, and it all depends on your personal style and the style of the shoot you are going for! Here is a list to choose from with different styles and sizes! Victoria’s Secret, Forever21, Adoreme.com, Torrid, thistleandspire.com, curvykate.com, playfulpromises.com or honeybirdette.com. If you’re looking for something specific and can’t find it, let me know and I might know where to get it!

‘What type of print products do you have?

I offer a variety of albums and lux folio boxes with matted prints in them! The 10x10 lux album is my FAVORITE! I love the premium, textured covers and the beautiful spreads. It’s almost as if you’re holding a first and only edition of a highly sought after novelist. However, the beautiful insides are a bit spicier. ;)

‘Do you offer digitals?’

Most of my collections include your digital file as well. But there is also an A La Carte list that you can choose from with the option to add on your digital file to any other purchase! These digital images come in a secure downloadable link for you to download and share!

‘I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?’

Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say it would be weird if you WEREN’T nervous! LOL! The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot make your moment of ‘WOW’ seeing your photos for the first time so much better!

‘How many outfits should I bring?’

This depends on your package. A typical session allows for 3-4 wardrobe changes. I always say to bring more if you can’t decide and I will help you choose. ALSO, all paid session will receive access to my client wardrobe! I carry sizes XS-5XL, and many styles and colors!

‘Should I get to my shoot early?’

You should always plan on getting to your shoot 10 minutes early so we can talk about your outfits and colors and make a plan for your hair and makeup!

Where is your studio located?’

The studio is located in downtown Springfield, MO! Right in the middle of all the great restaurants and entertainment! Are you traveling from out of town? Ask me about lodging options near the studio!
